Introduction

Professor Martin Charter, Business School for Creative Industries at UCA will facilitate a speed networking event – SpeedNET – via Zoom aimed at increasing collaboration between SMEs related to waste fishing gear. This will enable attendees to present their interest in relation to waste fishing gear, identify opportunities and make connections.

Audience

Companies with less than 250 employees with an interest in waste fishing gear based in the NPA region (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland west coast of Republic of Ireland, northern areas of Scotland, Northern Ireland (except for Belfast), Greenland and Faroe Islands).

How will the process work?

Depending on overall number of participants attending the SpeedNET session, each breakout room will be open for 15 minutes. Then after each 15 minutes session, participants will be randomly allocated to a new room to meet new people. Depending on numbers within the 60-minute session there will be an opportunity for 3 iterations, and to potentially meet 10-20 new colleagues.
Based on the number of people in each room, the aim will be for each participant to give a quick, 1–2-minute informal personal introduction. Areas to cover are:
