CCG Hub
Circular Cricket Gear Hub (CCG Hub) collects unwanted cricket gear and clothing, and redistributes it to state schools and disadvantaged teams and individuals. CCG Hub is an initiative of Spencer ONE organised in partnership with The Centre for Sustainable Design ® (CfSD) and in collaboration with Surrey Cricket Foundation and Decathlon UK.
How it works
CCG Hub is powered by an online tool that enables those with cricket gear and clothing to donate items and those that are looking for items to request them. CfSD is working with SCC on an online stock management tool to smooth the end-to-end donation process and make it more time efficient and transparent for Spencer ONE and its donors, and recipients such as state schools, disadvantaged groups and individuals.
The tool builds on previous research and projects completed by CfSD and will enable the calculation of the landfill and carbon savings associated with reuse rather than replacement. In addition, CfSD will work with SCC to identify the social impact of the scheme among the recipients of the cricket gear and clothing. Those interested in donating cricket gear and clothing, or in receiving items should contact Jamie Greig jamie.greig@spencercricket.org
CCG Hub is part funded by UKRI via University for the Creative Arts, AHRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) through the User-friendly Online Reuse-Carbon (CO2e) Calculator for use by Cricket Clubs and Leagues [RCO2_Tool] Project
