Background

Farnham Repair Café (FRC) was established in 2014 and became a charity in 2017. FRC has organised 77 sessions and created significant impact: nearly 4000 attendees, 1750 completed repairs, 66% repair rate, 5 tonnes diverted from landfill resulting in 46 tonnes of CO2 emission savings and over £133,000 savings to citizens of Farnham *1. In addition, to its physical events, FRC also provides a free tool to calculate CO2 emission savings resulting from repair that is freely available to other Repair Cafes and other interested parties – see here. *1 Figures as at November 2022

Objective

The webinar will provide an introduction to Farnham Repair Café (FRC) and share lessons learnt from setting-up and organising the repair cafe. There will be a presentation, followed up by Q&A session designed to tackle queries of those interested in understanding the issues involved with setting-up and organising the repair cafe.

The webinar will be of interest to those involved in climate change, community, waste and economic development
