Createch: Peer to Peer Networking (P2P) and Knowledge Exchange

Online Knowledge Sharing

The Centre for Sustainable Design® (CfSD) at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) will deliver six short online peer-to-peer (P2P) knowledge sharing sessions in 2024. These “Navigating Sustainability Together” sessions will bring Createch leaders together in small groups, facilitating open dialogue and problem-solving under “The Chatham House Rule.” By addressing specific sustainability challenges, these sessions will encourage direct interactions, knowledge exchange, and the creation of practical solutions. The regional and cross-regional nature of these sessions will enhance the impact by leveraging diverse perspectives.

These events are part of The Centre for Sustainable Design® (CfSD) at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability deeply into the Createch sector. The events are supported by the Createch P2P and Knowledge Exchange (KE) projects are funded by UKRI via University for the Creative Arts, AHRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA).

Background

In 2023, The Centre for Sustainable Design ® (CfSD) launched a web-based self-help tool for Createch founders, CEOs and CTOs to help them benchmark their sustainability maturity and devise actions plans at no cost to the user. The tool provides:

The tool currently has over 270 users in more than 20 countries. Now, The Centre for Sustainable Design ® (CfSD) intends to facilitate P2P collaborative learning and exchange as a means of integrating sustainability deeply into the Createch sector.  Hence, we have created a series of topical events to encourage active participation and the creation of meaningful connections among Createch professionals.

Target audience

The events are focused on founders, CEOs and CTOs in Createch companies, particularly start-ups and scale-ups. However, all in the Creative Industries are welcome to attend and use the tool to help them move through their sustainability journey.

Event objectives

Each event will discuss one of the following topics:

Generative AI and Sustainability: Explore the intersection of cutting-edge technology and eco-friendly practices.

Developing a Sustainable Business Model: Share insights on balancing profitability with environmental and social responsibility.

Building Sustainability into Funding Applications for R&D: Discuss strategies for securing funding while emphasising sustainability.

And the overall objectives are to:

  1. Create a dynamic environment where Createch leaders can engage in a meaningful exchange of ideas, experiences, and strategies related to the topic and sustainability
  2. Facilitate peer-to-peer learning opportunities, allowing leaders to share challenges, solutions, and successes in integrating sustainability into their operations and business models
  3. Provide a platform for building new connections and strengthening existing ones among Createch professionals focused on sustainability,
  4. Provide participants with access to practical tools, resources, and guidance to help them implement sustainable practices in their businesses effectively
  5. Inspire Createch leaders to take concrete actions towards sustainability, armed with knowledge, connections, and motivation from their peers

Agenda

Each event is facilitated by Trevor Davis, Managing Director, Trevor Davis & Associates Ltd who is working in collaboration with The Centre for Sustainable Design ® (CfSD). The Chatham House Rule will apply and events will not be recorded.
