Introduction
Join us for a free webinar exploring the evolving standards landscape linked to circularity, ecodesign and Digital Product Passports (DPP) in the fashion, clothing and textiles sector. This session will include an update on CEN/TC 248/WG 39 Circular Economy for Textile Products and the Textile Chain, including standards development related to circular design, durability, textile circularity, recycled and non-virgin materials, and textile waste management.
The webinar will review key international (ISO) and European (CEN/CENELEC) standards developments related to circular economy (ISO TC 323 and CEN TC 473), DPP (CEN-CLC JCT 24) and ecodesign that are of relevance to the fashion and clothing sector. The webinar will also explore how they may potentially support future implementation of the EC Textiles Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).
The webinar will also include the launch of the ‘Circularity Playbook for SMEs’ published by BSI. The Playbook is a practical guide for fashion and clothing businesses to plan, implement and scale circularity using international standards.
This webinar is organised by The Centre for Sustainable Design® at UCA in collaboration with BSI as part of the EU Just Fashion project. Just Fashion aims at accelerating climate transition in the fashion industry, by providing businesses in the partner countries with a reference framework and tools to shift their production methods, internal procedures and final products towards more sustainable models that are low carbon, circular and socially inclusive.
